Frequently asked questions
This depends on complexity, but I like to allow 4-6 weeks. This allows time for consulting with you on what you want included, the actual writing including tweaks and changes, and recording of vocals, piano and/or guitar, as well as mixing and mastering the song.
Yes definitely! I'd want you to be part of the process throughout. For example, when I've written a verse, I'll send you a rough recording, then a chorus, etc. Even when the song is recorded, I can still make little tweaks and changes.
Via email, you will recieve a high quality mp3 recording of the song, plus a backing track/karaoke version. I will also send you a lyric sheet and guitar chord sheet.
This depends on many things - song complexity and recording arrangement ( eg; just piano and vocals or full band sound with bass and drums etc). You may have your own lyrics or want to record vocals yourself.
The best way forward is to contact meand we can find out how I can write and record you the new song you want in the way you want, at the lowest cost possible. Also see mypricing page.
Great! Just let me know and I'll start working on the melody for you. If I feel there could be one or two words that work well slightly changed, I'll ask you if you're OK with it
Yes we can arrange that, especially if you're not far from Lytham St Annes. You'd need to allow around 2 hours of recording time.
Absolutely. All new songs will include a sung track and a backing/karaoke version so that you or someone else can sing it anytime.
Yes - guitar chords I will provide myself along with an additional lyrics sheet. If you would like a piano score, I will outsource this to someone I have used many times in the past myself for my own songs.
Yes, please do. Just mention yourkeynotes.com when you share. You can use the song as the soundtrack to a slideshow of your own images if you wish, and share that too.
I will retain copyright for the song as composer, but you will have full freedom to sing, share and use as a video soundtrack. I may well use all or part of the song on my website for promotional purposes.
